My name is Kevin L. McCowin. A.K.A KEV-E-KEV. Im a solo artist out of the
heart of Virginia, Fluvanna County. I started doing music when I was just
12 years old. That's when I played the alto saxophone for the school band.
As my interest in music grew, I began to explore the depth of my musical
ability. I was soon to realize that I could carry a tune, play other
instruments and had a way with word's similar to a person far beyond my
year's. Born and raised in Virginia, I learned the true meaning of , life
love, hate. joy and madness. As I matured, so did my talent. But for some
reason I was ignoring it. Life took me down a very bumpy road, so I had so
much stuff on my plate, I shied away from the music. Not as if I had lost
the love, but I was simply on a different path in life at the time. Around
5 years passed, and I was back around the people I grew up with. Now is the
time to express myself through hip-hop. Why? Because the previous 8 years
with their trials and tribulations, gave me a very interesting story to
tell. Little did I know the story would go on, and get better.In 2005 I
started to feature on tracks with some friends had high hopes of some day
hitting it big in the rap game. I've always been a showman, so my goal was
to upstage them with my witty,smooth delivery, and it worked.Thus creating
a buzz that gave me the motivation to excell. Soon I linked up with some
old friends that had just started to write, produce, and record hip-hop
music. It was clear that the team called LaVa Camp had a lot of work to do
and was in need of a front runner,a person to inspire the rest of the camp
to get to the next level. We all grew gradually as time progressed. And I
made it a point to put pressure on my team. Because I knew what we had the
potential to do. Over time we lost a few members along the way. but me,
I've always been a competitor. I developed a style like none other. And the
beautiful thing about my lyrics is, that it's all real talk. The people
recognize real when they hear it witch made my music more appealing to the
people. Combine that with my swagger and confidence and hard work gives the
industry the total package. Creativity and marketability. I am credited
with the score of the movie Cash Rules. An Everythang Green film. As music
supervisor over the film I contributed 7 song's to the soundtrack and
mix-tape including the title track "Cash Rules" as well as the theme song
for the film company "Everythang Green". Founded by Antonio Younger. As I
get more confident and hungry by the day, I see something major about to
take place. I am supported by a loving family, and a team of producers that
always seem to bring the best out of me. Simple and plane... "I'm The Heart
Of Virginia" and I am ready for the world. Are they ready for me?????
